That's it - I have had enough...

I don't mind mucking out either, well I don't now. My mare used to be on shavings but was really messy so swapped onto easibed and mucking out is actually okay now because she only poos in one little patch and is really clean! OP I'm sure your horses will enjoy being out as much as you'll enjoy not mucking out :D

Won't be long before mine are out for the summer!!!!! Thank goodness......of course that means more dunging!!!!! Not that doesn't have its good points.....good quiet time for lesson planning!

My health is suffering, I'll be glad for the end of winter. It appears my asthma/allergies are more affected by hay and straw dust than Mollie herself, but whatever the cause it will be a relief to have her back out 24/7. :)

Yes, he isn't really that keen on horses, but does it all to help me. :) Just because he is nice really! Oh, and he's a bit of a neat freak and likes the stable to be super clean and he thinks he can do a better job than I can, lol ;)

 I think he's taking the dedicated dad bit too far! My dad used to help with my horse when I was very young (turning out in mornings, etc) but drew the line at anything involving manure . Mind you, I wouldn't have let him muck out my stable as no-one could do my horse's stable better than me. :D

Omg I am exactily the same!!!!!

And my horse takes me about 10 mins to muck out. I get a shovel, take the lot out bar a handful of clean shavings. Then I put down another few handfuls of shavings and its done :D She only gets a postage stamp of bedding in the corner. Shes truly a messy messy horse. Poo's and wees, walks it in (no matter how much bedding I put in it she would expose the matting underneath) and then she tips her water bucket over! I've gone through 2 plastic water skips this winter so far. We are now on Number 3. I simply cannot afford to be giving her a massive bed and throwing out barrow loads of shavings a day! And tbh she lies down in her stable so I'm happy shes happy :D

So yes a broom and a shovel and 10mins of my time. I can have her mucked out, hayed, watered brought in and fed in 45mins :D So tbh its not a huge inconvinience :D

I'm not allowed mine out full time until the clocks change. But as soon as they do they will be turfed out unceremoniously and I will be having the most coveted of things, a lie in! :D

I'd like it with one or two but four or five is a bit much. Just torn a heap of stuff in my ankle though so mine will be going out tonight and staying out as I an on crutches for next 2 to 3 weeks. :-(

mine live out all year with access to stables if they want. so not much mucking out but stilll need to poo pick - latter is less work though. i still have a sore arm though from poo picking - think it must be repetitive strain injury!

Mines been out most of the winter. He came in for a few weeks, then his COPD got really bad, so it was back out again, complete change of bedding and he only came in when it snowed. Roll on spring!

Can't put mine out until 31st march at the earliest, yard rules! Although if it's wet that will get moved back! Can't wait this year, normally i wait until end of April but money is very tight this year so she is going out as soon as they can!

Yes, my boy is going out tonight. Not sure what he will think about it as he does like his stable, but his field mate will be staying out so he can go and keep her company. I'm fed up with smelly stable stains all over him - he is like a pig in his stable :( Hopefully he will stay a bit cleaner in his field. We're lucky that he shares a 6 acre field with 1 pony and still has enough grass.

This made me :) I remember when I first got Arthur it took me 2hours to muck out!! I didn't have a clue what I was doing just moving straw from one pile to another and back again :D

Now I can muck out in about 40 mins and I do find it strangely satisfying (note to self must get out more......)

The thing that does bug me though is my bankings! I am so rubbish at building big strong ones, and the second he goes back into his stable he does a massive wee, poo and then rolls with legs thrashing about so the bankings collapse and the bed looks a right state!!:D
