The Xmas Furry
Old Timer
Ok, so we really have 3 emergency services (I know, also the others too, but this is MY story!
)
Met with neighbour tonight over the fences at the yard & she told me a 'tall' tale - tho this was then backed up by another adjacent neighbour 20 mins later! I dont often see neighbour 2 as her land only abutts my top paddock for 20 metres & we keep different hours.
Ok, it was a bit blowy at the weekend in the SE a few stray branches coming down, tho mostly leaves etc. The odd branch breaking but not coming properly down (noting I must get them checked out)
Roll onto last night & just after I left the yard around 7.30pm a rather large branch from a conker tree fell into the Fuzzies paddock. No problem thought neighbour, am sure TFF's Fuzzies will be fine, they have been let into the night paddock the other side so will prob ignore it.....
Well 20 mins later she is poo-picking & hears Tiny Fuzzy calling - the silly mite had wandered into this 'branch' & somehow got herself stuck in the middle & didn't seem able to go forwards or back to get out
Now, said neighbour is a large girl & was worrying about climbing through her fence & then my 2 fences to get there quickly, rather than run round via the main gates....
then she said to me 'this is where it got very touching/amazing & funny.......'
Ta-dah!! nee-nah-nee-nah..... Big Fuzzy to the rescue (apparently!)
BF hurtles from longer grass across from night paddock, grabs piece of said branch in teeth & waggles it hard, tugs it again & TF manages to extracate herself!
But, after TF is out & safe, then BF throws branch down on floor - and stamps on it hard in several places to make it firewood!
They both then waddle off back to the adjacent paddock again.
Now, I would not have believed all this - but as 2 different neighbours told me this & they don't usually see each other (or know each other well) I am inclined to think they are not fibbing (not the sorts to really)
Am amazed - tho they (TF & BF) have only been together since early March (TF arrived in mid Feb) they do have a strong bond & TF is the only one to ever have been allowed to share BFs feed bucket (old owner are you listening??
) also sharing everything else like shelter, stable & haynets....
