Our sport is probably one of the worst for exposing our skin to all elements. Sun and wind are the biggest offenders. We are recommended to wear a daily sf15 but in reality who actually does. What are your tips to keeping flawless, wrinkle free skin?

What are your tips to keeping flawless, wrinkle free skin?

Regular face lifts and dermabrasion?

Staying inside?

No idea - don't both much with skin care as doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference! Maybe I just have good genes tho' :o

Drink plenty of water, and wash your face each morning with warm water - no soap or cleanser - then pat dry with a soft towel. Eat oily fish or something equal to it twice a week. Plenty of fresh fruit and veg.

Avoid too much make up. My skin always feels tired after wearing cosmetics for any length of time. Tinted moisturiser is a good way around foundation. For cleanser, I stick to vaseline to remove it all, then cleanse with witch hazel and finally rinse with warm water as normal.

Finally, moisturise twice daily - morning and evening - with the best moisturiser that you can afford. Make sure it suits your skin type; most of the cosmetics counters will offer free demos and you can get them to advise you on what your skin type is.

I never miss a day without wearing spf15 on my hands and face, and the body shop extra virgin minerals on my face that is spf25 so a total of spf40 on my face. Unlike other pwders, you can't tell someone is wearing it. I also always wear make up. I believe it protects the eyes and lips. I don't have any wrinkles. :)

I wear an spf every day as its in my moisturiser and make up. I've been doing that since I was 18 ish and I think my skin looks ok! I always wear sun protection if its a sunny day too as I'm pretty fair and don't want to burn.

I wear spf15 on my face every day. I'm 35 soon but sometimes still get asked for ID for cigarettes. So SPF and smoking keep you wrinkle free!! And when that fails I shall hit the Botox ;)

Once you reach a certain age your skin is the least of your worries - 'tis more question each morning of whether all the stiff injured bits still work;).
And of course the advantage of eyesight getting worse with age is that you can't see your wrinkles anyway!

Well I heard smoking is bad but some smokers I know have much better skin than I do. Life's not fair! I would dread to see my skin if I took up smoking though!!

Am with you on this catkin! Now way past the point of worrying about wrinkles, more concerned about whether I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning without scoffing a handful of painkillers first!

Drink water, moisturise well with a good SPF moisturiser. Use a good handcream. eg Neutrogena.
Stretch the stiff back muscles and the hips, because the grimacing from trying to put your socks on in the morning will grow the wrinkles as well.

Me! My mum taught me to wear moisturiser with uva and uvb protection since I was 12yrs old :D.
I clean my face with a super mild
cleanser and luke warm water. In the morning I put on face cream (I go through various brands but currently using elemis), if the face cream does not contain sunscreen then I put on extra facial spf30, then a small amount
of foundation that also has spf.
So basically I always have protection on my face.
Hands im not so good at but I do put on hand cream twice a day.
Theres a lady I work with who actually has skin cancerous blotches on her face that are monitored. They were caused by her growing up in SA, being outside and never using sun cream. Even though she left there in her 30's the damage had been done and they developed in her 40's. They look a bit like acne and shes a pretty lady but her skin looks aged and sore.
Makes you think...

Finally, moisturise twice daily - morning and evening -

Ha, if only my skin would listen to this! I moisturise before doing horses, during having a shower after doing the horses, straight after having a shower, and then again before I leave the house. I probably moisturise once or so at work (prescription ointment is v greasy :o ) then again in the evening at least 5x before I go to bed again, I still have dry cracking skin. Going to look 50 before I hit 35

Love the SPF chat - v important not to forget your ears!! A fav place fir sub damage/little skin cancers.

Young skin: don't smoke, don't sunbathe, drink water, avoid yo yo dieting, eat your 5 a day and be happy. All that said I'm considering Botox to stop the puppet lines!

Stencilface I did read somewhere that over moisturising dries your skin out...Your skin works to keep itself balanced and too much thick moisturiser tricks it into thinking its oily and so it doesnt produce as much oil leading to a vicious circle.
Its the same with using harsh drying products on greasy skin. All it does is trick the skin into thinking its too dry so it produces more and more oil.
Makes sense really :).

I would agree with you firewell, but I have really stinking eczema, and no amount of drying out helps, plus its very hard to no put stuff on your skin when you literally feel like just smiling will crack your face :o It extends from my face down my neck to my stomach, really attractive!

I use hydromol which is prescribed and is very greasy, I've had to change my regime for various reasons and I need another appt with my GP dermatologist to help me fix it, getting appts with her take a long time as she is in demand!

I bought some bare minerals make up which I am loving too, only wear make up for going out (so, not much anymore now I'm married :p ) but this feels so much cleaner on my skin :)

Gosh that doesn't sound nice poor you :(. Make sure any stuff you use doesn't have SLS in it, you probably do. Just thought id mention it. It seems to be in everything these days and its an awful poison.
Coconut oil is meant be good :).
