here is my unhandled foal, we picked him up on sunday,he travelled like a dream, now leading out on lead rope hes a star. After first jumping out of stable lol hes now content considering he was only taken from his mum on sunday

Sorry but i really dont know why breeders think it is acceptable to abruptly wean foals, made worse by selling it the same day and travelling them to a new home. Made worse still by not handling the foal until the day it is expected to load into a horsebox!



It really annoys me! im sure you have the best intentions for your new foal but sometimes that cannot make up for the crap start they have had. The way a horse is weaned can stay with them for life. Apart from the not inconsiderable mental damage that abrupt weaning causes it can cause real damage to their digestive system

Good luck with your new boy OP. i hope the person who bred your foal gives up breeding sharpish.
 
I saw it first 5 weeks ago and was not aware that this would be the way it was going to be done until the day i collected it,however it wasnt an option to leave it with them
