And that's the good news :D :D :D. Mr Consultant thinks that it is healed and that it won't collapse any more. I'll be back there for another x-ray in six weeks before he will discharge me.

The bad news, or sort of bad news I suppose all things considered, is that I can't ride until February at the earliest :(

I'm working on being upbeat and okay about it - planning out physio and getting fit and pruning my riding clothes so I only have size twelve jodhs ready and waiting for me - but am feeling a bit emotional at the moment. Was very worked up beforehand (can't help it, hate being out of control).

D1 will keep riding Dizz for me three times a week :D. I'll be able to lunge her and do some groundwork, so that's good :D

Right, I'm away to do some work :). Client has been very understanding, but I have to make sure they aren't short changed and that the project moves forward :D

That's very good news, MrsM:D You'll be back to full form in no time at all!
And just think about the upsides of not riding through winter... I think Feb/March is a great time to get back into the swing of things ;)

Great news, it must be a huge relief to have the stupid thing off!! Have you got a massively long, luxurious bath planned for this evening?

That is a bit disappointing, but the worst of the weather is coming up and you can spend it nice and cosy, ready to take up the reins again for spring!

Best of news!

Feb will be here quicker than you think!

Very very pleased for you.. Can I uncross my legs now as I really could murder a cuppa! xxx

Thank goodness the blasted thing is off. You now have the moral high ground: Mrs M to D1 "Well of course I'd LOVE to be riding in the wind / rain / sleet / snow / minus 20 / with a streaming cold but my consultant just says no!"

I have to admit that I have been one of the very lucky ones. My brace was taken off every night :D. It will be nice to be able to soak and stretch (as much as daft muscles will allow lol) and not worry about something going Ping! or Crunch!

Crunch? Oh yuk I was just eating my lunch

At least you have a (flexible) date to start again now...

That's great news Mrs M!

You'll be back out causing more carnage in no time at all :D

Oh you know me so well.... :D ;) :D

D is all for me exercising and improving core muscles, etc. He thinks that if they had been better I might not have come off - I told him that they're quite good and were what had kept me on for as long as I did! So he changed tact and said that hopefully I will learn to be more gentle on myself and not be constantly pushing and trying to do better every single time.... he may have a point ;):p:cool:. I have hopefully learnt a lot from this and no doubt still have more to come :D. D said he hoped we wouldn't be back here (the hospital) again. I said it was highly likely that we would be back, we play a dangerous sport and things are going to get hurt, but I would rather be hurt doing that than spend my life wondering and worrying about 'What if?!'. He got the point :D. If he hadn't, he would have had to give up cycling...:eek::D

Awww good news Mrs M!!!!

I've very impressed that you're not even hinting at being naughty and having a quick "sit" on Dizz before Feb!

I wouldn't condone that obviously, but you're much better behaved that I am!!!

:D:D:D

I've seen the x-ray... The vetebra is no longer a sort of squared off oblong, it's now a wedge shape. My spinal cord runs through there..... I've felt a tiny bit of what it would be like to have that damaged. Not going there.

If they said never, ever again, maybe that would be too hard to bear, but they've said February :D. If I were to get on again before then, and heaven forbid come off and damage it further, I don't think I could look my family or friends in the eye.

It is great news and you will just have to be patient a tad longer. I am really pleased for you and feb is really not that far away, I mean there are xmas adverts on tv already!!!!
Great news. Try to stay calm eh!!!! No can-can dancing either.

Fantastic news Mrs M !!

I know how hard it will be to not ride for a while, but it will fly by (with the dreaded C coming up too ). Shy is supposed to be "turned away" till spring, but I can't resist a quick ten minutes hack here and there twice a week , I was getting so impatient - I managed three months I think.

I'm so glad you back is healing - and thanks for your message re mine ! There is nothing worse than a back injury, is there. Having been stuck in Shy's field yesterday, trying to work my way up to standing up, you have every best vibe I can send you. I looked like a right plonker
