HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF NUTTY TAKEN TODAY AFTER A BATH
SHE IS NOW 4 WEEKS OVER DUE - VET IS COMING THIS WEEK BUT I WONDERED WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!

SHE ISN'T BAGGED UP AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE FOAL MOVE!
SHE CAN'T BE FAT AS THERES NO FAT ON NECK OR RUMP
THIS WOULD BE HER 6TH FOAL AND SHE HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN BEFORE.

Only the 4th pic down makes her look in foal, from the side view I wouldn't say she was in foal at all. Its definitely not sitting back if it is and if she was due 4 weeks ago I would espect it to be.

you sure you got your dates right? She doesnt look ready to foal in the next few days anyway although she may be hiding it very well. I had a friend who was 16 at the time and she hid it from everyone till she went into labour in the loo at school! Now that was a surprise

. Mairi.

On the forth one she looks in foal, but not 4 weeks over due.

However, on the side shots, her stomach has not dropped (although I don't know what she looks like normally remember) and her quarters do not look particularly slackened from the behind pictures, which you would expect if she is a full four weeks over due.

Did you have her scanned when she was covered? Have you any photographs of her from her previous pregnancies?

I would have said not particularly as so far over .
She would be that misshapen from having six foals.
You never know though.

our last foal the mare was confirmed deffo not in foal by vet and mare really didnt look it...so you never know
but she doesnt look in foal to me

From my experience of pregnant mares i wouldnt of said that she was in foal but saying that she could just be carrying a small foal or be hiding it very well lol.

Also 4 weeks is a long time for a mare to be overdue and they dont normally go over unless they have to.

Personally if it were me i would give her another week or two and if there are still no signs get the vet out to try and scan a heartbeat.

Good luck with her.

doen't look so to me, but having said that one of my friends a broodmares hardly shows at all the out pops a foal! she's currently having the same dilemma!!

She could be although she certainly doesn't look 4 weeks overdue, more like she has about 10 weeks to go.

I think the way her belly holds she is in foal but not four weeks over, It can take time for the mare to get preggers from covering tho...Cant it? I haven't seen a horse whos over weight were thier belly swells rather then getting fatter....Def needs some vet attention me thinks.

Sam, I would love her to be in foal, but to be honest, she looks less in foal than Bunny did 5 weeks ago.... but then again, Bunny just popped out a foal 4 days ago!

Don't know on this one, probably best to get the vet to confirm either way.

I would also love her to be in foal
as I really wanted to keep a foal by thomas

I have the covering dates 100% correct.

if you stand with her she looks infoal - but there's no udder and no foal kicks

I have told her I am very cross with her for making me so worried.
However she has done this to me before but last time she had bagged up!

My sister use to breed shetlands and she had one mare that never looked in foal... yet always had foals.. Every pony different, bit like people i suppose..
I think she looks infoal..

yes that is the bunster!!!

Nutty often does this not in foal look but always has a bag to support it!

she will be scanned when the vet comes this week

She shouldn't need scanning - if she's that over due the vet will be able to put an arm in and feel baby if it's there.

My Trak mare who was blood tested NOT in foal in the Autumn has been looking more and more pregnant to me so i got vet out who put arm in and felt baby, and even felt baby kicking - so it should be very easy for your vet to check.

Keep us posted!
