So, I am about to take what I consider to be a big 'punt' on a horse, actually pony. I saw him today, sold from the field, worm ridden, underweight, generally poor condition and a confirmed rearer to boot. I just liked him. Interested in your stories and outcomes, both success and failure.

I'm just hoping we don't get a post in the not too distant future of "new horse went over backwards with me". A confirmed rearer is not something I'd take a punt on.:(

Wish i had the money to help horses out of situations like this. Hopefully the rearing is caused by an underlying issue and he will turn out to be a lovely pony! Good luck! :-D

I would think twice. My "punt" that sounds remarkably similar to what you are talking about was PTS 2 years after I bought her as she was a total looney. As long as you are happy to spend time and money with that being the likely outcome though, then go ahead, it might come right, but I doubt it.
