I just wrote this and then the computer died, grrrr
Anyways, so as my new boy has been such a star since he arrived the time had come for his first outing, so we tootled off to a little show just up the road so see what he thought of parties!!
Walked straight into trailer which was a plus as his last journey was in a transporter over from Ireland. As we were getting ready on the yard the sky was black and there was a lot of distinct thunder rumblings, lovely
!! Got there and he was suprised to see so many other ponies but mostly stood and stared whilst i tacked up. Although a loose pony galloping past was pretty exciting
!!
Got on and the heavens opened, now i'm no fairweather rider but my god it p1ssed it down!!!!
Was a little excited in warm up, especially when people whizzed behind us but kept his feet on floor and popped the warm up jump few times.
Went over to walk course for 1st class with one kids from yard and was not impressed. Very weird distances and the ground was leathal. Saw 2 horses slip over and he's not got stud holes in yet.
Had a look at clear round ring and was much better as had longer grass so went in to see what he thought. 1st round very looky but clear and 2nd time really smoth and forwards.
Sooooooooo pleased as was about 2'3, had fillers and a funny narrowish one. Such a good pony.
So all in all good first outing, sorry not that exciting a report (or that much of a competiton i suppose!!) but i'm so proud!!!
Glad i decided not to do class, i'd have been so mad at myself if he's slipped and scared himself.
Here is a picture of us looking like drowned rats and he's wearing his 1st rossettes!!!
