At our yard and the guys there use a different system of mucking out and bedding. Pick up droppings daily and remove the wet once a week. Fair enough 
YO said to me that when they pop horse to bed, they catch the first wee in a bucket so as not to add to the wet and to save bedding. I thought an excellent idea.. however my boy would rather have a hernia holding it in for fear of weeing infront of someone than to actually try and get him to do it in a bucket!
I'm happy to do a full muck out daily and YO is happy for me to do my own thing 
Got me thinking though, does anyone else do similar things with regards to their pones beds?!
