Hi was wondering if a poorly drained field could be the cause of an absess?

I am moving from my present field soon due to the drainage problems but my contract (unsigned as yet) is up at the end of January so obviously will only be there until the end of November so if they kick up a fuss could i claim its unsuitable for purpose and hazardous to my horses health? (ok bit dramatic but its really is awful, my trailer is currently stuck in the field when i tried to park it up with some hay in!)
 
A wet environment could be the cause of an abcess.. yes..

BUt be very carefull about who you blame cause it could get nasty.

If the contract is unsigned.. then its not a contract!?

Thats what my husband has said i moved there in June but they have only just had the estate agents contact me with a contract and for payment.

Im looking at a new yard on Saturday so they can hang fire.

Not sure where i stand as i have never signed anything only ever spoken over the phone etc.

The field is not suitable for horse use the fencing is rubbish, which was fine when it was my sensible mare but my new section A yearlings just limbo underneath so i have spent a fortune on electric fencing! Also the drainage is awful im 6 months pregnant and not amazingly agile at the moment when it comes to wading in mud!
 
You accepted the fencing when you moved in, therefore you cannot use that as an excuse. Whilst a wet environment can increase the risk of an abscess, it cannot be claimed as the cause.
I hope you can find a new yard though, doesn't sound much fun.
 
Kosha and Willow have both had absesses in the past through similar conditions. This weather doesn't help, thankfully I have stables to get them in the dry but I know you haven't so it must make it harder at the mo with the rubbish drainage and the consistant muddy conditions etc.
