Just wanted to show off my freshly trimmed darling without her mane feathers or bushy hair! She looks so much better without and it must be a relief to get rid of her feathers. Anyone else's horses braved the shave early this year?

And after:

Its like a different pony!

Took Militaire's feathers off earlier this year as he was so itchy. I have photos of him hogged with his previous owner and it isn't a good look on him so he keeps his mane!! Yours looks very smart.

She looks lovely both ways! Like her red ear hat too :)

Whilst not hogged, the Shetland got a full clip a few weeks ago: had so much fluff off his headcollar no longer fits.

She looked instantly happier once it was off. She was very anxious about it all but she is such a good girl she let me do it anyway.

Shes almost the same size as my old pony so instead of holding on to his things for silly sentimental reasons I have been slowly giving them to CAF and Loa. I'd rather see someone using them now so its made me really happy to see someone say they like them! :biggrin3:

Shes gone home today and I'll really miss her. I didnt think I was that keen on her at first but she has really, really grown on me. She has a lovely attitude and has tried her little heart out this week. The clipping started with her leaping into the air and sitting down, then moved onto her biting me and then very deliberately and slowly kicking me in the bum! But we worked through it and by the next day I was sitting down practically underneath her clipping her feathers off while she went to sleep.

I'm very proud of them both.

Bless her. CAF has done so well with her! She sounds like a lovely little pony.

She is. She has tried so hard this week in a strange place, with strange people handling her and doing weird things to her. She just got better and better as the week went on.
