Following my post last week, Stan has now been castrated. It was done yesterday, he spent all afternoon, evening and night asleep and is now back to his usual bouncy terrorist self :) I am poorly so we are both confined to the house and keeping each other company.

I did get a cone-of-shame from the vets but the nurse said most people don't bother with them these days? Anyway, he is terrified of it so we haven't been able to put it on him yet...he is occasionally having a bit of a lick but nothing destructive so I think he's OK?

He's not allowed to go for a walk for 2 more days, and is then only allowed gentle lead walks until next Tuesday -eek!!

Here is my fave pic of him, taken at Burghley :)

ohh he is gorgeous! i take it tho that beneath that cute' butter wouldnt melt' face lies the heart of a demon on crack? i only ask because i too am at the mercy of one myself :D

when M got the chop i tried the gentle exercise on a lead thing, and also crating him a few hours a day but on day 3 following the op he was doing the wall of death round the rooms and his crate so i rang the vet for advice. She said as long as the wound looked ok, not weeping or red, to let him run in an enclosed garden for 10-15 mins a few times a day as he was more likely to damage himself inside the house throwing himself around (she has 2 Parson's herself so said she knew what i was up against :p)
Obviously it depends on the dog and how the wound is healing, and ofc your own vets advice

He certainly hasn't quite grasped that he is supposed to be recuperating and is launching himself off the funiture etc as usual! We have a plan to take him out in the car this evening, won't let him out of the car of course, but at least it's a change of scenery.

He is a cheeky little monkey but he is remarkably well behaved for a terrorist :)
