I can't decide what to do with my pony.

I've known him for years and love him to peices, don't get me wrong, but I don't know if it's fair on him to keep him with me just for my sake.

At the end of the day he's 13.2hh - I'm 19 and 5ft9/10ish, not heavy built but obviously look ridiculous on him and can't really do much on him in the way of competing or anything like that and I don't feel it fair to have him have to lug me around...not that he struggles or complains or anything, still quite happily jumps anything you point him at and hack out to wherever for as long as you like etc.
I just feel like he should be out there doing pony club again and having fun rather than being stuck being just my little 'fun pony'.
He's done pony club for the past few years, was a regular at camp\rallies\shows etc and is the sweetest little pony with a proper little bambi face.

I've got him advertised up for loan atm which was my originaly plan to get him doing stuff again, but I just think if I'm going to let him go out on full loan and move, then really should I may as well sell him? To a good home obviously.
I mean obviously I don't want rid of him or anything like that as I love him to pieces....I just think he could be having so much more fun and giving a younger rider so much more fun in return.

I would love to get a horse at some point too...as I can't do what I love on him which is lots of schooling, work up to medium dressage, XC, showjumping, etc.
Obviously he can do all of this but I just feel too big [and am too big] to do anything seriously full time on him...I can't expect him to put up carrying me for hours schooling, hacking, hunting, etc everyday.
I just need a horse I can have fun on and progress with what I want too...and obviously I can't take riding my little 13.2hh seriously lol!
I already have my other 14hh welsh mare too but selling her is out the question...tried that last year and ended up telling the first person who rang up enquiring about thatshe wasn't for sale anymore lol....she was my first pony who I broke etc and done everything with and even though she's sort of retired for the minute, she's with me for life lol.

I think I've made my mind up actually writing this post...got a little nagging voice saying I should sell him =[ As heartbreaking as that is as I adore that little pony I really do.

I just don't think it's fair holding each other back to what we both want to do?

What do you guys think?

Sorry if this post is a bit confusing....was just random thoughts I've rambled along typing as I went lol :/

Yes as long as he is not an old guy, then I would sell him and give him and yourself a chance to move on. ( I think you have made your mind up anyway)

Yes, i would sell and let some little girl have the dream pony she's probably dreamt of! And with the money you get you can put it towards buying something bigger so YOU can compete and have fun etc :-)

Yeah cheers

Verified what I was thinking.
Feel really heartless in a way for putting him up for sale but I think it's better for him....guess that saying if you love something then let it go is right lol.

He's not an old fella, he's 10 =]

Yeah Bandi's in my siggy pic =] The little bay one. Thanks

He means a lot to me bless him.

Put a couple of adverts up for him earlier, just on free ones, think he should be up on stabletalk, thehorseexchange, horse hunter and preloved.
