The 'Duct tape' on nose trick

I think I will stick to my twitch, can't see the duct tape having much effect on mine! I want to keep my teeth when I clip his back legs :D

Mine would be terrified by the sound of it coming off the roll and don't think he' let me take it off as he'd probably get a free wax at the same time!

Being a dyed in the wool sceptic with cynical leanings, I'm inclined to be a disbeliever too. But then I haven't tried it.

Before you dismiss it as being complete nonsense, have a look at this video and the one following. OK, not horses, but…. I've worked with dogs all my life but never knew about dog hypnosis before. It works for me too. Mention "tax return" and I immediately go into a catatonic trance.:)

In both cases what I see is shutdown and it is not something I ever want to be responsible for causing by choice

Ok - I've seen it, and have my doubts - but in the interests of research, I'm going to try it today. I have one horse who is extremely consistent in his reaction to having a bit of neck skin grabbed for injections, and another who throws a fit if I turn the trimmers on and try to tidy up his beard! I'm going to try it on both of them today and see what happens.
My vet will be delighted if Jim will consent to being injected without kicking up a huge fuss - he is due for his second tet vacc next week, and last time was EXTREMELY hairy!

You say its a hoax but yesterday I was trying to clip my horses head and he was having none of it, I tried the duct tape and for a minute he was trying to get it off. He then gave up and stood still. He let me clip his head and his ears and stood like a rock. Took it off and tried again, couldn't get near him!

Duct tape isn't sticky enough to pull hair out, and certainly not hair the length of the hair on a horses nose. It peels off very easily when you're done with it. It only sticks very firmly to itself

Friend has just tried it in her "do not trim my face" horse. He let her trim everything with no fuss so she is a convert!

AA make sure you get the really strong stuff, and wrap his head in it, that should do the trick!!!!
My boy has a really sensitive nose, even a warm feed get him constantly blowing his nose, this would drive him mad not calm him.

I can recommend the stuff for repairing green houses, Our poor plastic little house is now patched up with lots of the stuff.

As for Ted I would first wrap his feet together to prevent any rapid exits, then I would wrap his nose until he could not breath, then throw a crash test dummy on board with double sided sticky tape on the breeches. Ring an ambulance and stand back.
