For those that have been following my posts here is the latest.

Horses owner called last night and i let the call go to voicemail as i have asked my partner to deal with the owner as obviously i am finding it too upsetting. So she calls my partner and says she won't take less than 4K and that she wants an answer now as to whether we want him or not.

So we both talk about it a bit more but can't resolve anything as we're both very upset and also don't actually have 4K. So i call her and say, you know i really love and want the horse but that i'm struggling to find the money, i asked if she'd give me until friday to let her know the final answer.

Owner responds by saying sorry you've messed me around enough, i've given you plenty of time (less than 3 weeks to find 4K), your trying to 'cheapen' him by saying he's not worth that so i'm coming to pick him up tomorrow.

So today my fantastic horse that i have got fit, looked after, got in fantastic condition and loved completely is being picked up by his stupid owner who believes she can keep him in the sort of condition he's in by leaving him in a field and who is going to try and sell him ASAP for somewhere in the region of 8K - this horse will not pass a vetting either.

How can there be such greedy awful people in the world

It totally sucks, I'd rather give my horse away than get lots of money if he was going to the perfect home but I think some people only think about money. It doesn't make you happy though does it?

Everything happens for a reason though, I know it wont seem like that, but keep your chin up x
 
Oh no - after reading your previous posts, I really hoped you were going to be able to buy the horse at a fair price as you obviously love him. I have a feeling the owner might ask you to have him back once she can't get £8k for him - or £4k for that matter. Can't see she is going to keep him through the winter. Hope it works out for you.

When is she meant to be coming for the horse?

TBH I think she's bluffing and would be surprised if she shows. Sounds like she's trying to back you into a corner.
 
Agree with carthorse,i remember your original post,i'm so sorry for you,there are a some thoughtless people out there.
I really hope he fails each vetting so that in the end she finally realises he's best off with you.Let us know how you get on,chin up,and remember,everything happens for a reason,i've been to hell and back lately with redundancy,heath problems etc and i've truly sticked by this saying and it's paid off for me.
 
So sorry to hear this but i agree with carthorse. Make it clear that you would have bought him if you'd had more time.

Then start saving!!!!!!!!

In the meantime, bide your time and see what happens.

From what you say she wont get 8k for him and if she does then fair enough, theres no way you could/would have paid that. But she's selling a horse at the wrong time of year and will probably not be able to show it in its best light so fingers crossed he wont sell for a while.

I know you feel youve done all the work but youve also had a lot back from him. Its always a risk you take when you loan a horse.

I agree with carthorse too, however hard it is (and I guess it will be pretty tough) be really polite, tell her the offer is still there and then let him go, hopefully he will be back to you sooner than you can imagine {{hugs}}
 
As already said, be really nice to her, then when (and if) the horse gets vetted and fails, you can then buy him for even less as she will be in a desperate situation. Keep your chin up.
 
Sounds to me like they need the money. Sadly I think you should send him back, but with full written instructions of what you have been doing (full schooling and fittening programme), and what they need to do to keep as fit and what they need to feed etc. - you might have him back a bit faster.
 
What is meant to be will be - as the others have said, lets see if she can sell him fo 8K, if she does hold your head up high in the knowledge that it was your hard work that has acheived this. If, as we all suspect she cant then she may well come crawling back, if so make sure you stick to your guns and onluy pay what you can afford.

On the meantime see this as a door opening, you may find a horse in your budget that is even more special than this one.
