So this is quite over due ... it was last Sunday!! And a bit of an essay!

All in all, they were very well behaved. The day before was a bit chilly, but they were so dirty they needed a bath... So I took them home and bathed them on my patio :D and... blow dried them too!! :p

Impressively, they were still clean the next morning. They've only travelled once and that was a 10min journey to me in the trailer. This time was on the lorry (which they've been in and out of, just not moved!) and my second time driving it with something on board. Despite me getting lost, they travelled super, didn't hear a peep!

When we got there I'd just missed Calypso's class, miniature yearling. Apparently someone had spread on Facebook that it was cancelled, so loads of people didn't come, what is wrong with people!! But I was actually quite glad I'd missed the class because the two in it were sooo tiny, I don't think he's actually a mini, perhaps a midi! Then was Acer's class, there were no other entries which was a bit annoying but also good for his experience. he was a poppet, just totally shocked at the whole thing!! Did as he was told (just a bit fidgety when asked to stand) and yaay he won... :D Haha. He went through to the young stock championship, so I just stood outside with my mum holding Calypso for the next class to finish, and he was such a nuisance, everything that came passed he got his willy out at and would rear a little - nothing out of hand, just him being a bit excited and colty.. All the while Calypso just stood and watched :p If he gets worse, he'll just be cut, but I would like to see how he turns out first, I would be so gutted if he grew into a really classy boy and I'd had him cut!

In the champs he was up against two big black standards and a mare and foal, ok so he didn't stand much of a chance, but the judge didn't even look at him, which I thought was so rude, she could have fussed him a little seeing as she knew it was his first show, but not even a look! But hey ho, its all experience and even with the mares, a foal and a stallion, he was very good.

Calypso was next (Acer got left on the lorry to stop him being such a pain!) And he was also so good, bless him. He was in the coloured along with 4 others. To be honest, yes he looked a little scruffy compared to the others, but he's a baby, hasn't lost his coat yet and his markings were far better than at least two of them in there. And once again, the judge hardly paid attention to him! So he came 5th (along with being best young stock... :p ), but again its all about experience and I'm so pleased with them both.

The one thing I was shocked with about the judge, was the fact that she opened every single ponys mouth. Now I haven't done a huge amount of showing, but what I have the judge has always asked you to open the ponys mouth? What a way to spread diseases... Hopefully nothing had anything or was a carrier!

Now for the important part.... Pics!! :D
(excuse me looking knackered, and the lack of Acer - mum was holding Calypso while he was showing)

Being a pro!

Ace (his coat didn't look this bad to start with, he'd been stood on the box rubbing on his haynet and when I got him out for pics it was so windy!)

And Clippy again

And all together now! :D

I'm a very proud mumma :D I was hoping for some constructive advice from the judge on how to improve them, but all I was told was Acer needed to be exercised more daily (umm.. he's 1 what would you like him to do everyday!?) and Calypso was 'cute looking'... So, if any of you have any constructive advice on them, feel free to share!!

Yey! I've been hoping you would do a report on them :D

Firstly well done!! And secondly they look awesome!!! So clean! You are totally right to be a proud mum :)

Have you measured either of them, just out of interest?

Thanks :D

I promise they don't look anything like that now!!

I haven't measured them for a while actually... Last time I did Calypso was almost 33" and Acer almost 36"... I'll have to remember to measure them again later - Acer gets bigger by the day, and his bum has just shot up again, he's like the hulk!!

How big are yours? And are you feeling better about them? I've decided to just stop worrying bout mine now - they're always playing, coats are shiny and they always seem happy so I don't think there's anything worth worrying about, I think we secretly just don't want our babies to grow up... :p

Acers going to be quite a big boy then! Well as big as a little pony can be haha!

I haven't measured mine yet, going to do it in the next few days but I reckon one is about 33" and the other who is a bit smaller I think about 30". Yes they are both much better now thanks, and I totally agree going to stop worrying from now on...asides from their silly coats which still look stupid they are in great shape, very happy and very friendly so that's all that matters! Plus I know I'm doing the best I can for them :o
