...is advertising his other husky bitch for sale again on the freeads. She was also for sale when we went to pick Dax up, and again a few months back, and now she's up again with some new photos and a 'reduced' price of £300.

It breaks my heart, it really does, because in all of this time she's been alone ad unwanted and, if Daxy-dog was anything to go by, barely exercised. She's young, KC reg and not neutered so prime numpty breeder material. :(

After wrangling with myself for a couple of days I sent him a message to say that we were the people who had his other dog and, although I couldn't offer him anything like £300, if he wanted her to go to a good home with her old friend we'd take her straight away. Unsurprisingly he hasn't replied.

Bit pointless really, just a bit sad for this lovely bitch. :(

Aw, bet you'd rather you hadn't seen that! Poor girl :(

It really is pot luck who dogs end up with, as you say she'll probably attract the wrong home.

Fingers crossed he thinks of what's best for the dogs interest and gets back to you but I wouldn't hold your breath

So sad, maybe she's had a litter since then and he's sold them, made a packet, and now wants rid of her

Offer him 200 if you can get hold of it, if he's that desperate he might take it, bless her, hope she gets reunited with Dax

Can you raise that sort of money, I aint got it but, I think I'd try my best and get it. Not saying you're not trying, just what I would do, not having a go or anything

I have to say if it was me I would go down there with a hundred quid and ask to have her, chuck the cash at him (he sounds the type that wouldnt refuse some cash) How much did you give for Dax?

found the ad...must go asap all serious offers considered......go down there with what you gave for Dax and take her!

Not always just pot luck..some breeders are VERY careful as to who they sell a puppy to. And some of us NDTR tattoo all our puppies ,so that they get back home to us if they do go astray into any rescue/trouble. One of these breeders is myself, I am told that it is very difficult to buy a puppy from me..excellent,exactly as it should be!:D

That's great :) and i'm sorry to generalise but I think you are in the minority as a breeder.

I was thinking of this bitch and Dax though - BC has given her a fab home and provided what her breed requires, the other girl however has since been passed around and may take some serious work to settle somewhere new.

'scuse my absence, was out on a yomp!

Yep, this is the guy who said he was having to move abroad for work and that's why the dogs had to go - total fabrication, though he did genuinely seem upset when we went to pick Dax up. He's still in the same place (horrible place, that bit of park the pic is taken in is the only green around!) and the house isn't up for sale or anything.

I gave him £100 for Dax as she was unregistered, unlike this one. It would cost me £180 to get her neutered (and I won't have an unspayed bitch around, the farm dogs are both entire males, it doesn't bear thinking about) so anything in addition to that is money that I really don't have. :(

It's really tugging on my heartstrings but it would be madness, I said I didn't want another sibe as I need at least one that can be reliable off-lead just for the logistics of walking the buggers, plus I'm back at uni in three weeks so it's really not the best time to be introducing a new dog into the routine.

Argh. :(

I walk/run mine at the same time these days, mostly on lead *cough*

Sorry, I know it's easy for us to say but it's your life and I totally see your point and what's not to say he'll pick up more on the cheap and try and make money off them too (didn't you say he was advertising for another for cheap or free?) and you'd just be rewarding his idiocy with cash - plus it means you are more likely to get a shep in future, eh? :p

(didn't you say he was advertising for another for cheap or free?)

Yep, a few months back he was looking for a companion for her as she was 'depressed' on her own - I'm assuming that she's been depressed and alone all this time, and why, because he sold his other dog as she was an inconvenience - ooh, it makes my blood boil.

I'm going to sit my OH down this evening and have a proper discussion about it.

I'm just wondering how I'd manage with two at the yard on winter mornings, that kind of thing, it's a bit of a logistical nightmare when you absolutely can't trust them an inch off the lead. On the flip side, it might well cure the separation anxiety overnight. :o

ETA: My OH's friend has just rehomed a GSD bitch from the Dogs Trust, I'm hoping she will bring him around to the idea of one. :p

I actually think you are being sensible and realistic here BC, you really have to weigh up the pros and cons of having a second sibe, and maybe the cons would win.:( Is it worth contacting sibe rescue (I imagine there will be one) and see if they have any ideas, possibly you could try and get her on their behalf. Or even if she has papers is there any chance the breeders are the sort who would actually be concerned and prepared to help rehome her.

MM that did cross my mind - if I could get her for £100 or so and then, if it didn't work out with two of them, at the very least she's in a good foster home while the Husky Welfare Association can find her somewhere permanent.

I don't know though if they'd cover the cost of neutering and I know they have a massive waiting list of dogs to come in who are currently in homes where they're unwanted, so it'd be a long old wait if it didn't work out.

A big pro would be that I'd have a full scooter team. :D

Where abouts is this dog and where are the contact details?
He sounds like a ****** I would also dare bet he had a few issues with the seperation issues with Dax and thats another reason he sold her off cheap:mad:

Telford, Shropshire. You need a Preloved account to be able to contact him by message but assuming he hasn't changed his number since February I have a mobile number for him.

I suspect he's been having issues with this dog too, some months ago he advertised wanting a free companion dog as she was 'depressed' on her own, I bet she's been bloody howling the house down too.

I posted on the other thread about a bitch free to a good home, I don't suppose you're anywhere near to go and pick her up? She's the spit of Dax and it's upset me a bit. :(

1, What other post (re bitch free)?:p
2, Is the husky on pre loved now and is there a link to the advert? or do you have an e,mail addy for him aswell as a contact number?
:D

Don't think I'd be much help as it wouldn't be polite, Probably best approach is to go there with some cash, less than he wants and wave it in front of the Pond Scum's nose???

I left a voicemail message and an email last night, offering £100, but this morning the advert has gone again. :(

It is probably for the best, this is the worst possible time to be introducing a new dog as I am so busy over the winter months, plus I really don't have £100 + £180 for spaying right now - I'm just so angry about it all anyway.

Nowt wrong with the flat, we don't have a garden to speak of and she hasn't exploded yet. :p But somehow doubt that the 7 month old has access to thrice-daily cross-country romps and at least as many pee walks. :(

Don't suppose your Freecycle area is anywhere near me, I'll come get the bugger! They're always 6-18 months, it's the age where they stop being cute and fluffy and start needing serious work.
