Alee has been going to a few inhand shows recently and I have been posting on here about what star she had been.
Went to Blue Barn EC today and entered for the youngstock class, show horse class and best mare class well all I can say is Alee was not her usual good self today.
The day started bad with the weather, she is not good at having things done to her in the stable and had a hissy fit and broke her new leather headcollar!! So ended up outside plaiting in the pooring rain.
She travelled well took anout 1 1/2 hours to get there. Was not particularly impressed with the place and the parking was unorganised.
Anyway went into first class in the indoor school and it was very windy and spooky and she wouldn't settle. The loud tannoy spooked her as did the horses in the school next door cantering around there was also a puddle in the school a leaf a feather etc etc. You name it she spooked at it!! Her trot up was cr*p and she kept leaping and boucing and didn't really trot at all. This was the youngstock class and we got pulled in 4th out of 5. She did the same in the other classes and came in last in both!!
The judge was not helpful and didn't even manage to utter a word to me let alone give me any advice or even manage to pat my horse. Steward was lovely and came and gave me some suggestions which was nice.
The only thing I did differently was that I kept her in overnight and I think she had too much energy, so lesson learnt and she'll be out at night from now on!!!
Having said all that I was still please with her each outing is a learning curve and 1 bad show out of the 4 we have been to now can't be that bad for a 3 year old really. Didn't take any piccies as my photographer was busy keeping me calm!!!
