The Horse In Archaeology

Yes indeed - and had the bonus of hearing Dr Jill Cook talk about the BM ice age drawings of horses too. Due to go in a big Ice Age Exhibiton next year but meanwhile on public view on the ground floor, very tiny in glass wall cases. Dont miss them.

I would love to see this exhibition, very relevant since I work at a heritage site doing historical riding displays.

I'm an ancient history nerd, and a horse nerd, so this is just like my dream day out :p

Wow, do you know if they are still doing talks? Will have to try and go on a day when they have someone in. It looks amazing!!

So would I. Thank you for reminding me. Am off to call horsey friends and organise a day out.... :)

Damn where are they all?? If they have gone to pub without me, I will be most upset :(

I love old books on training! Often so full of wisdom. We've lost so much. Any recommendations, preferably on-line??

Anything Greek is great, the Art of Horsemanship by Xenophon is worth reading cover to cover. Also didn't Philip II of Macedon write something on horsemanship or am I thinking of someone else?!
