Having spoken to the Head of Welfare at the horse Trust this afternoon:

Re: Judge Kainth's decision to return/ sell at auction the Spindles Farm equines.

All the charities involved request that concerned parties please write to Judge Kainth at this address only -

Deputy District Judge Sandeep Kainth
Oxford Magistrates Court
PO Box 37,
Speedwell Street
Oxford
Oxfordshire
OX1 1RZ

The charities request that you PLEASE, PLEASE keep your letters RESPECTFUL. Although feelings run high on this case, nothing will be achieved by unpleasant language.

All the charities concerned expressed their thanks for the support they are receiving in their appeal against the judge's decision.

Thank you all for your cooperation in this matter and let's send mountains of (polite) letters to the judge!!!!

Further information from the Horse Trust:

All charities involved request that concerned members of the public write to their MP to express their disappointment with Judge Kainth's decision to return/ sell at auction the Spindles Farm equines.

Please write (this can be an email) to your own MP and include a copy to Mrs Cheryl Gillan (MP for Amersham).

All MPs email addresses can be found in the link below.

http://www.parliament.uk/directories/directories.cfm

Again, the request from the charities is that all emails should be RESPECTFUL, as this will achieve more.

Thanks again for your support and cooperation in this matter

And finally

All the charities involved are now being coordinated by the National Equine Welfare Council

http://www.newc.co.uk/home/

A petition is being set up on a new website, specifically for this appeal against the judge's decsion. The petition will be live by tomorrow. Keep checking the NEWC website for the link and of course it will be provided on this forum as well.

London Tonight and ITN News at Ten have both filmed reports at the Horse Trust today. Look out for them on TV tonight.

The Sun newspaper is running an article Tuesday. The HT are also in contact with the Daily Mail.

The Horse Trust thanks OE supporters for all the letters they are writing, both to Judge Kainth and to their MPs. Please also sign the petition as soon as it up online.

Feel free to copy the posts EO.......

Are we to go down the American path of trying to change or influence the decision of the court by weight of numbers?

British Justice should depend on what the Prosecution and Defence present to the Judge on the day, not on public opinion which may be whipped up by the Sun, the Mail or indeed the Witchfinder General!

Think of all of the major miscarriages of justice. The people who have spent years in jail for crimes they did not commit.

What have they in common with Jamie Gray?

The fact that 'Everyone' 'knew' they were 'Guilty' because the press told them so!

Please everyone just calm down and ask yourselves 'What if the press reports were not particularly accurate?'

Now ask yourself 'What if the same sort of press reports were to be circulated about ME?'

Yes YOU!!!!

IF JG is INNOCENT then there has been some DIRE JIGGERY POKERY going on.

And that means that no one or their animals is safe.

That scenario should be raising more concern and discussion than the court's decision to return the JG horses.

This is not about guilt or innoncence, this is about ensuring the horses, ponies and donkeys that are in the care of the charities are placed in good knowledgable homes under the supervision of those charities..... We are not interested in JG, only the future welfare of those animals....

And if he is found guilty, then the biggest miscarriage of justice will be that the horses went back to him. If he is found innocent - then they can be returned but until a verdict is made, they should stay with the charities. IMO

Yes i have emailed PM's the Law firm, just asking for the animals to remain in the care of the charities until the case if over .
"Dear XXXXXXX
I am very sorry to bother you but I am only begging you to let the donkeys and ponies belonging to Mr James Gray to remain in the care of the charities that have nursed them back to health the last 3 months until the court case against Mr Gray is over ?"

No I am afraid you are wrong. If JG is found guilty of neglect/cruelty when his case comes up the legal system will look pretty foolish making a ruling to return some of these equines to him BEFORE THAT VERDICT IS REACHED. The priority here is to safeguard those animals.

The problem is Fernis, that the process is not yet completed. The case for neglect has not yet come to court - so this decision is pre-emptive to say the least.

It also lines JGs pockets as the horses in the care of these charities are being sent for sale 'on his behalf'.

Have written a very polite letter to the judge and also e-mailed the local MP. I so hope we are listened to.
