So, after fiddling, stuffing and padding out numerous saddles, I have decided that the Pony has proved himself and can have a saddle of his own. Now is the issue, i'm fussy! At the moment he is going in an Albion Lightweight XC. I dont like GP's particularly but need something that will make flat work slightly easier, as schooling in the Albion isn't easy! He's very short coupled and I don't like these funny looking VSD's. Preferably another close contact. Max spend £1500.

New or second hand, leather is a must. 17.5'', Med - med-wide!

Go, go, go!

the kieffer range.

the saddles are so nice to sit/ride in , trees are fully adjustable (has to be sent off to be done though) mine is 2 years old has had loads of use and still looks like new.

you can also have different seat depths etc.

have you tried any of the fairfax? ive just had a dressage saddle and gp ordered and on way, vvvv comfy, leather, adjustable and only £800-900 brand new? i tried albion but didnt fit my horse right, and any kind of jumpin saddle was no no, doesnt like things on shoulders lol

Frank Baines are wonderful.
I have owned 3 (dressage Reflex and Reflex Deluxe and Enigma) after Albions and would never go back. Worth a try :) For an idea of cost my dressage ones were £1200 and £1550. The jumping one was £1300. So comfy for horse and rider and make you sit in a very good position.

I absolutely love my Jeffries Falcon Hawk. Lovely deep seat, find it helps to keep my leg in just the right place (I am tall) for flatwork & jumping. Under £1k brand new. Smart & last for ever. Wouldn't want anything else now :)
