The hunt is a new website that we have launched to provide a forum and info so that people can share their stories on hunting, lurchers, gundogs, terriers, hounds, horses, ferrets, shooting, fishing, falconry etc. We would also like you to upload your photos and we will add them to the gallery

If you can keep the itinerant and illiterate numpties that plague THL off the forum. You might stand a chance of building the site into something worth visiting.

I'd start by banning all profanity and text speak as per the likes of H&H and Pigeon Watch. At least that way you have a chance of ensuring a decent level of literacy. Which is a start.

Thanks for the advice, was thinking about banning text speak but I was afraid of
pushing people away before it gets going, I was going to intoduce it when the members and that had built up

Its always best to start as you mean to go on. That way you don't have any arguements.

Putting a ban on swearing and text speak in place for the outset will help ensure you keep the trash off the site. One of the main reasons why THL has become such a cess pool of a site is that the admin and mods have allowed it to be come so. The numpties might be happy with how its run and what it has become. But there are a great many former posters that aren't.

Great stuff, best of luck with it. But I agree with soggy, please don't let it get like The Hunting Life ! Only good thing about THL is that it shows we're not all toffs!

Thanks, I will do my best, I have just installed a new forum which allows me to monitor better and also gives me total control with warnings and things like that so I will be keeping a close eye on things to avoid people fight and offending other members.
