Ok I'll start from scratch.........
Twig my 16.1 6yo tb appeared lame in the school a week ago. Its very very mild as I couldnt even feel anything and had to get off and put her on the lunge to see. As I say....even then very very slight lameness in near fore. Cant see it trotting her up in a straight line. At first we thought she had tweaked a shoulder hoolying in the field as that side was not looking as free as the other.
Had the farrier out monday to have a look. He found the tiniest tiniest bit of pus but didnt think it anything significant, put wadding in then the shoe back on and said to call him if no improvement.
There has been no improvement during the week (not getting worse either) so hes been out today to look again. Absolutely nothing with hoof testers and no pus watsoever. Just in case shes bruised something hes packed te foot with some gel stuff (sorry cant remember name!) and put a leather pad over top. If shes no better by tuesday its off to the vets for us.
So, any ideas anyone? I'm getting all sorts of horrible ideas in my head about navicular or damaged ligaments
shes out at the moment as I tought standing in wont help as se does get quite stressy and weaves so think shes best mooching around in the paddock really. I'm gutted
