My daughters pony today pulled away as she was being caught, kicked my daughter in the side (tummy height) kicked her to the floor and then circled around her so she was afraid to get up

We were on the yard and heard the crying, she's fine but what a little cow bag!
(i know she should have been better supervised, but usually catches and brings in fine)

My daughter is 8 and yes thank you she is fine (she did try to wear a sling after but it was just for effect!!)
and the pony is fine, she is a gorgeous little pony and i couldn't have got better ridden wise but i think she just likes her own space and would rather stay out than be ridden!
I think it was her pride hurt more than anything. Its quite sad really though as its good for her to do everything herself but i cant risk her going to get her in again just incase.

It's hard with little people and little ponies. My daughters get hacked off cos I won't let them go and get pones on own and they're now eleven and fourteen (eek, where did the time go?!), but there were lots of big hosses in the field. Now we're down to five and it's a bit safer. But the youngest's pone can be a bit of a git, he can pull away with no warning and an adult can't hold him (I have the trashed shoulder to prove it!). Little ponies. Don't you just love them. Glad both are okay.

Are you sure that the pony kicked her? I wonder if she is like my son and exaggerates just a little, therefore a high spirited buck as the pony went past is easily transposed into a kick. It seems unlikely that the pony will kick your child if it has shown no sign of doing it before. I may be totally wrong, and it is good to keep an eye out when they are so young.
