Well, Lukey(or Lux as I sometimes call him) has been here a couple of months now and I htought some of you might like to know how he's getting on.
I have to say he has to be one of the most laid back ponies I've ever known. Very little phases him, although he does have his moments!...like when he first saw Jelly wearing a rug and his eyes nearly popped out of his skull

He has *almost* grown out of the habit of hiding behind you when being led, although if he sees something that he's convinced is going to eat him he does suddenly disappear

He's quite happy to be handled generally, although fly spray is still a No-No.......wiping the stuff on with a cloth is occasionally tolerated, yet he's quite happy to have you smear sudocrem on his boy bits(I should probably explain that this isn't my new fetish, he was being eaten alive by the pesky midges)

He has shot up yet again and has gone back to yak mode....probably will stay that way til his front catches up with his now sizeable backside. He is a greedy little b*gger, and got quite bargy when being fed so got a swift telling off

He is prone to tantrums, and his latest trick is to rear up, although I have to say that, perversely, he only ever does this when he's decided to give in, almost like the last bit of defiance before he sulkily does what he's told! He, however, has no respect for personal space and this has to be addressed before he gets any bigger!
The one thing we haven't tackled so far is tying up, but I can't see him having too many problems as he'll quite happily stand(for a short amount of time til boredom sets in) when being held. Oh, and he's yet to be acquainted with the concept of bathing......so any volunteers for that step this way

All in all, he's a joy to have around. He's either eating, sleeping, or, erm, eating......he gets on well with Jelly, although she does get pst off with his antics every now and again, and lets him know in no uncertain terms that he's being a git, and to pack it in!

And what does Lux think to it all.....well, life's just one big joke

He is so sweet - I'll come up one evening and help you bath him if you want!

That would be great! Will have to have a look at the weather report and chose a warm evening

Very sweet - I started with Chancer by using warm water and a sponge then progressed to cold hose his legs. When I do use the hose I started on a trickle and followed him until he realise it wasn't going away and life was far easier to stand still for him. He (and Cairo) love to grab the hose and drink from it like a dog.

I still tend to use warm water and sponge unless hot as Chancer is a big woss and hates cold water.

He too likes sudocream being rubbed in his boys bits - has midge problems there and where his belly button is.

So it's not just Lux being a perv then!

With regards bathing, we have no hot water facilities at our yard, which makes life rather difficult. He *used* to be afraid of the hosepipe(thought it was a big scary snake out to get him) but hes not so bad now, although whathe'd think of the water actually touching him only time will tell

He looks cute! How come all the houses at the bottom of his field are white? Or are they caravans and not houses? Sorry, straying off the point of your post a bit but it all looks so Mediterranean and, as an East Midlander myself, I don't remember Nottingham being half so exotic when I left for the grittier Northern climes!

Hehehe...we have a caravan park at the bottom of the field, so yes, very exotic

It's abit annoying actually as the residents keep feeding the ponies, which really p!sses me off given that our little welshy is on a diet and needs extra calories like a whole in the head
