The miniature pony stallion putting my horse to shame...(video)

Cute, nice to see him being hugged too, he's obviously very loved.

Choice of jumps leaves much to be desired though. Does explin why you find the little blighters out of thier stable that is still locked when you arrive in the morning -.-

Aww that really made me smile. Some parts were a bit cringey but how nice to see a little'un being useful and fun. What a super pingy little thing :)

Looks a well loved pony and he has an amazing jump. However I was not impressed by the choice of some of the obstacles. Would rather see him loose jumping than on the end of a leadrope. Finally think that ponio needs to lose some weight, especially when being asked to jump the height he is being asked to tackle, dread to think what the long term damage to his joints and back may be :/

Pony looks to be enjoying it though, don't you think? I'm sure it would just refuse if it really didn't want to do it, and miniatures are built like that anyway. :)

What a great video.

Having a mini I can assure you that if they don't want to cross something short of picking them up and throwing them over they won't do it! As for the selection of jumps, I bet a lot of us can hold our hands up to making ourses out of anything we could get our hands on when we were kids. ;)

Another link here...for a little horse called Larry, what a star! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7-ebv03Yws&NR=1&feature=endscreen

I used to think "what purpose do minis serve? Useless creatures" but having met so many people who have them I think they are fantastic and make a lot of people, who may not want, or be able to have a riding horse very happy.

If he can jump that height and mixture of 'scary' homemade fences, can you imagine the fearless hunter he would make if he was 16hh !! Thruster of the week !

:D

I was wondering what the equivalent height of some of those jumps (the upright solid board for instance) would be if he was full size.

I agree with you. Impressive little chap but silly and dangerous objects he's being asked to jump over.

I think (just worked it out roughly, based on the pony being about half the height of some of those jumps) it's about the equivalent of a 16-hander jumping 10 and a half foot! Any takers? :D

Amazing little chap but jeez, there are some seriously dangerous obstacles being put in front of him. A GLASS cold-frame??? Imagine a hoof landing in that, or among the chair backs and there was some sort of metal thing with vertical prongs. I wouldn't like to see him catch his underside on whatever the solid sloping jump actually was.

Having watched this earlier I decided to have a go loose schooling my Daughter's 8hh mini over a little cross pole this morning. Tbh I didn't actually expect him to jump as if I usually try to loose school him he immediately makes a bee line to the edge of the menage to nibble at grass and flat refuses to move...... Not it seems when there is a jump in the school! Cue charging around like a hooligan and launching himself over the jump in both directions! He seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself!! I can't wait to tell my little girl as I'm sure she will want to have a play herself at the weekend. :-)

totally agree , I admit to jumping my horses over some rough home made fences but even as a youngster I knew not do that
