Flash literally has no friends, all other horses don't just not like him, they really hate him and every single one puts their ears flat back and reaches to bite him as he goes past, and a fair few will come galloping across from the other sides of their fields to lunge at him with bared teeth!! I feel a bit sorry for him being so despised, does anyone else have a really unpopular pony?! Is he doomed to a life as a loner with everyone calling him 'no-friends-flash'?

is flash the coloured pony in your sig? if he is then it's only coz the other horses are jealous of him coz he's sooooo pretty. very nice horse

yep Flash is the coloured beastie, and thank you, he has got a bit of a cute baby face

Hovis was like that when I first got him. All the others beat him up, ripped his rugs, bit him etc.
I was quite worried about him.
Then a lovely little ex race horse came to the yard and they've "buddied" up. They look hilarious as F is as slim as Hovis is wide but they adore each other.
The others all bite him as we walk through the barn but at least he now has a friend!

When we had 6 at home my little sister's pony got treated like this. I asked around and I think a lot of 'herds' have this kind of mentality where somebody has to be the bottom of the pecking order. Its just a shame that there has to be a pecking order really. Our pony was always grazing on his own and I always felt so sorry for him

I wonder whether he's a little too OTT with trying to be friends, he wants to go and see everyone and still seems to think he's a stallion and everyone loves him

"All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history! "

Get yourself a Santa hat...

There was a post sometime ago about horses wanting to graze with other horses of similar colours, for safety... does he go out with any other coloureds? If not this could be why!

There always has to be an underdog, I guess your boy is just it! Some horses are always the bottom of the pack, regardless. Others may move up the heirachy if turned out with different horses

there's 2 other coloureds at the yard, and neither of them like him either. We're going to try him with an ex racer at the weekend who is nearly as unpopular as he is and very similar in personality, age and size, and also a bit of a girly looking gelding. We both feel a bit sorry for our horses being the losers of the yard!
