I LOVE american cockers!! My friend has 2 and they rock! Couldn't do with all the grooming though, she takes 8 hours to prepare them for a show!!! I like showing me trusty vizslas, I don't even bath her, only a quick wipe over with a baby wipe just before we go in the ring!

They do take a hell of alot of grooming, I have boarded a few and groomed a few, all nice placid little things.
