The National Equine Show

I went last year as I had free tickets. There was lots of shopping and I got to watch a couple of talks. If you want to look at horsey related shopping then it's fun, but I'm not bothering to go back, even with free tickets, as it's not worth the journey for me.

Yes we’ve been going the past 2 years! It’s getting bigger each year, the first year it was tiny but last year it was pretty much doubled in size and this year looks like they have 260 exhibitors! It’s only shops really and some talks, we did some meet and greets too last time, if you’ve got free tickets and it’s not costly to get to then yes I’d definitely go!!

Take some food though as the options were limited last time and expensive!

I think it's now better than YHL for shopping as a lot of the smaller companies that used to go to YHL are now priced out of it, but can do the Equine Show. If you get free tickets, and car pool it makes it a very cheap day out too.

I've also got free tickets and it's not too bad for me to get to so I will probably try and go. I enjoyed it last time but I wouldn't have wanted to pay a fortune to go, it's mostly shopping with a couple of demos/ live zone things.

I’ve gone for the car park right next door so it’s a bit more expensive, £26 but last time we nipped back for our lunch and to drop off bags etc so for us it was worth it…plus had kids with us who I didn’t fancy walking far with 🤣

Anyone going on Saturday? I'm not going till Sunday, please let us know if there any good deals etc!!

They have a 'new business' area which I think is a great idea, I'm looking forward to checking out those stands!

In answer to my own question…went today and had some absolute bargains!! Nearly every stand had show offers, my best buys were a Henry James bridle which had nearly £100 off (I was gob smacked) and Aztec diamond breeches for £28 🤣

Definitely recommend for anyone!!

I thought it was great too. Loads of stalls and loads of bargains. Much bigger and busier than last year. Would recommend for anyone wanting a shopping fix!

I agree, a lot bigger than last year and some total steals on the stands!

i might have to have a trip next year, i went last year and thought it was absolutely pants!!🤣 there were no bargains in sight, the only thing i bought was the new (at the time) limited edition gorilla plas bucket, baby pink for diva and lilac for lily😂

It was much better this year, I can’t think of any stands that didn’t have snow offers, even the big brands had sale rails. It was really good, we’ve been every year it’s run and this was much better. Lots more stands too!

wishing i’d gone now!

I think it just takes time for these events to gather momentum and get good brands to go etc, the first year it was really small but now it’s got some traction and people are going more and more brands are going, it’s definitely my best for shopping! No silly luxury brands like at the the big events, which is refreshing! Most stands are horse related and no investment companies, extortionate art galleries or clothing that the average person can’t afford!

Agree with others, getting bigger and better each year. I spent a small fortune this year and didn’t pay full price for anything apart from lunch.

I have had free tickets for the last couple of years but haven't made the trek, perhaps next year if they still offer free tickets I will make the effort to go. It was such mixed reviews last year that I didn't even look too much into it this year.

No it was a lot better this year! We’ve been every year it’s run and it’s definitely worth it while they are giving free tickets away! I’d even pay to go now I was so impressed x
