The new 'Field Safety' rug

Wicked idea - wish I had thought of that! Maybe they are just making limited rugs to test the market, not everyone uses electric fencing. The company will need to recoup the initial high research and production cost, hence the high price tag to start with.

I've always solved the problem by stitching a piece of wide electric tape round the chest of the rug. Horse leans on fence, pushes rug onto chest and fence. Bingo, connection from chest to fence. Only do it once.
 
I cheat and just put a tied small loop of electric tape round the front buckles of my rugs when I do them up. It's completely safe and it touches the fence and zaps them if they lean on the fence. I only have to put it on every so often when I see them leaning over.
 
Considering the amount of Houdini ponies out there perhaps they would consider making smaller sizes later on
