Oh dropped a horse off at a yard just up the road from us and has discovered that they have several cases of Australian Stringhalt. I had never heard of this before so had a rummage on Google and found this....

Here was me gloating that I dont have to worry about ragwort now it looks like Ill have to up all dandilions and catsear. Damn.
Anyone had experience of it?
 
Honestly, horses really are the most useless creatures. I'm amazed any survive at all. There are so many things they can't eat or can't cope with. I think after giant pandas they must be the most ridiculously ridiculous creatures on the planet.

And no, never heard of it until now. Do we get those plants in the UK or is it too cold here?
 
Yes, we get them in the UK. No, I've never heard of Australian Stringhalt either. Apparently the plant is edible - to humans, at least.
