Owner, USEF Disagree About What Killed Chromatic BF - The Chronicle of the Horse

The USEF and the owners of the horse are in disagreement about how Chromatic died at the show jumping world cup finals in Riyadh. Owner claims it was due to the drugs administered by USEF vets, USEF vet says it was strenuous exercise.

What seems weird to me about the situation is that when horses compete for the USA they "loan" the horse to the USEF whom can then make decisions on the horse and treatment. I'm not sure I would like that if it was mine!

Oh god, that's awful! It does sound like the injection was the cause, with the timeline.

Seems extra suspect when after this they are no longer administering selevit IV but it definitely wasn't the drugs.....

Awful. Reminds me of when the 21 polo ponies died, also with pulmonary haemorrhage, after the selenium injections.

Doesn't that expose what is routinely happening to horses competing internationally? Very safe for one to have to die to force an admission of the list of drugs in its system.
