Here is my new boy – week three, have started doing a bit of trotting in the arena (small trots) because walking was getting very boring indeed for us both. Still doing about ½ hour walk a day with intermittent 1 min of trotting, and being lunged for 20 odd mins on top!

We have moved onto ½ a scoop of topline and condition mix now he is doing a bit more work, 3 feeds a day still, and ad lib grass and hay. He is also on equivit bodybuilder which I think works (although I know people don’t)

He is proving to be really nice, he is a kind horse with a big heart, bold and brave (typical tb :D) I am really pleased with him.

Do you think the workload is enough, or should I increase the walking?

Anyway, please excuse skeletor/my dodgy claw hand in this pic, I have no idea what I was doing at all. Feel free to give tips and advice please :D

You look like your doing a fab job!! I'm rather jealous you look like you've got a good one there :D
I would maybe start to increase walk work either this week or next, even just by a few minutes, maybe 5 or so.
Uh, i'm so jealous xD I've been dropping my nose over similar projects, and just wishing!! But unfortunatly university gets in the way of so many things!
Goodluck though keep us posted :D

How about breaking things up a bit with some little hacks in walk? Might be a bit more interesting for you both:)

Spudlet he has been doing lots of hacking and hill work too in walk :D I have just been doing trotting in the school as so blinking boring!!

He looks great ..i posted pictures of my new project last night im hoping to be where you are in a couple of weeks to. He is very lean also. Your chap looks lovely :)

This was him 16 days ago, thankfully he no longer looks like a glockenspiel however has a long way to go in terms of muscle...
Will have a squiz at your project now!

Thanks - it is amazing how quickly he has put weight on, I thought I was going to have a right old struggle

OMG hello stranger hows u looking at the pics he looks much better guessing this is ur new horse

i find linseed helps get condition on really well as does dodson and horrell build up cubes with a bit of speedy beet ooh and alpha a chaff does wonders (spesh the oil one once they get into hard work)

work wise lots of stretching long and low whilst staying round building up to a better frame helped with my girlys and hill work.
