My cob goes beautifully in a pelham - absolutely loves it and I have brakes. However I can't use it for dressage and have been using a Neue Schule Comfy Contact Sweet Iron Filet Bauscher. He is quite heavy and leans, despite my best efforts to get him off the forehand. He can also feel quite wooden, and I have occasional steering problems. He also 'chomps' on the bit the whole time. Am thinking of trying a fulmer with a french link but would appreciate any other ideas you guys can think of !

BTW - he doesn't like a single joint or a thick mouthpiece as he has quite a fleshy mouth. Am schooling as much as possible doing lots of transitions to try and get him off the forehand.

Oooh the same problem we have! We are alternating between the pelham - used with both reins - and a french link fulmer. He's beginning to go better - hope the french link works for you
