Harvard got beat by UConn - one of my team mates took a fall in the 2nd chukkar; it did not appear particularly nasty but during our half time breifing mentioned he was dizzy. It deteriorated rapidly to not talking and he just appeared to have a blank stare. In a matter of a 2 minutes it went from a trip to the University doctor, to an ambulance being called. When the ambulance came, they asked him questions and his speech was all slurred, he could barely walk. He was in the hospital for a couple hours, he had an MRI and was diagnosed with just a mild concussion. We all suspected as much but you can never be too careful, he certainly had us all worried.

Just another story of a helmet doing it's job.......... He will have to take the next couple days easy but will be fine.

Hi hun. Hes going to have awful headache for a while. Thank God hes ok. Agree with the helmet - 16 year old boy fetched his horse out of field lastnight in the dark and rode bareback to the yard without a hat. Is it only when you get past 30 that you start to get 'responsible' ?

Yeah he does have a headache - better than being an ear bud though! Our coach is really good (his son is the second best US player), so having him around things are always done properly.

We do not train. So far the only time we have played together were in tournaments. When Spring comes we will use the coaches horses to practice a bit (he has his own field). We could get a number of horses donated, however with no where to keep them, and considering they will be far away who will look after them. Harvard Polo Club has historically had these problems, not sure how they are going to be solved, but we are trying.
