Basically i gave Toby (the pony) a few days off and lunged him lightly today and all signs and symptoms of stringhalt have gone.
I am ringing my vet for further advice but i think it could be one of two things
1) Mites, hes been very itchy lately and he could have been stamping and snatching his hocks because hes itchy..bit far fetched but its not unheard of apparently
2) problem with his back. Therefore i am going to have a back person to treat him.
If this fails and he is still snatching his hocks he will go to the vets for xrays and scans ets, although he is not obviously lame, just an unusual movement if that makes sense? Hes certainly not in pain.
Hes only 6 so i don't want to rule him out now.
