The problem with spring is

Now I love spring - its my most favorite season - all fresh and new but arghhhhhhhh the ragwort fork is ready for the onslaught of ragwort - already I have noticed florets so tomorrow night I officially declare spring warfare on Ragwort

My very good doer gets fatter, he hasn't lost an ounce over winter.
I've stopped most treats, give him small haynets and only about a cupful
of hard feed with sugarbeet to stop him stressing when the mare gets fed
as she needs building up.
I ride him as often as possible, but not enough due to severe arthritus in
my hands, one field is on a slope, so I keep him moving round the field in
the hope that it will help
I have even tried advertising for a rider, with no luck as we are out in the
wilds.
If anyone has helpful suggestions, my ears are open
