Not had a brilliant weekend generally. OH in hospital with chest pains and spend most of last night in A&E with him. He is being kept in tonight but they are fairly happy that he hasn't had a second heart attack.
I am tired and slightly crabby.
However, despite all that, I have had a fantastic time with my horse. Friday I skived off work early (well there have to be some benefits to being self employed) and we managed our first "after work" ride this year, albeit only the mile to the pub and back.
Yesterday, before the OH's chest pains started, we went out for an hour and a half and the horses were brilliant, even when a gas gun went off nearly up their ar$es.
Today, my fantastic fieldmate chucked out and mucked out my horse in the frosty cold so I could have a lie in and then, once I'd got all the latest news from the hospital, we managed to get out for an hour on the now unfrozen roads and tracks. The horses were well up for it, despite it sounding like Armageddon thanks to gas guns and a sudden influx of motorbikes (well the sun was out) and we even had a few strides of unscheduled canter.
Am now repeating to myself, "next time it's raining sideways, the mud is up to your knees and your horse has just bitten you again, remember that he keeps you sane when the chips are down!"
Thanks little horse and his great wingman and his mum - life if OK after all!
Right, back to the hospital in good spirits to cheer up OH now!
