I am away working and managed to get the afternoon off to go to The Royal, its a huge horse and agricultural show in Toronto. It was so interesting to see how differently things are done over here.
I watched the "hunter" finals which was like the workers, only on much finer horses, jumping MUCH smaller jumps, the judge never even comes into the arena let alone actually sits on the horses!!!
Also saw the international show jumpers welcome class, a lot of the big boys were here, Michael Whittaker who took it easy on Portofino, Rodrigo Pessoa who took th ewrong course!!! Bezzie Maddenand tonnes of other big names.
The stable areas are all indoors (unklike HOYS) and are heated, they are double level so there are huge wooden ramps to get up to the top floor.
It is a really great show and I had a great day and got my horsey fix!!!!
