native ponies day at the Royal and there had been some major reshuffling overnight. Parking was moved to drier areas although the tractors were still busy during the day, and the showing had been moved to two outdoor arenas so competitors were on a sand surface. It was closed to the public so nearly all the trade stands and food outlets had disappeared - after nearly an hour of concentrated shopping I only managed to buy some spur straps, so it must have been bad!

On to the showing - it was well organised and quite low key and the classes more or less ran on time. There were some lovely ponies there and several I wanted to sneak into the trailer and take home.

My pony went in the breed in hand class with the other mares, she was a superstar despite being considerably older than most of the competition and came away with a 5th Rosette so we were all happy bunnies
