Has anyone had any dealings with them? How are they for quality & fitting? I have a seller quite near my village & I was wondering whether it would be worth looking into it.
Saddle company are fantastic! I've got 3 of their saddles now. For a saddle that is fairly cheap new, you get something that is very good quality, fits well as they are all adjusted especially for you and your horse and are very practical. If I could afford it I would always stick with WOW saddles but Saddle Company saddles IMO are a good budget alternative. There is also the added perk that the saddle can be adjusted to fit your horse if he changes shape dramatically.
both of mine have saddle co saddles, just got an event this week infact... never had any other saddle thats as comfortable for me and the horse.
Love the saddles and so do my horses, have seen such an improvement in them that 3 of my friends have went and bought them for their horses too...
They dont seem to be 'technical' enough for the really competative riders but for me who doesnt really go beyond 1m they do the business really well....
Love mine! Its the only saddle that hasnt crucified my seat bones (I have a seat saver on my other saddles, but not this one). I had mine fitted earlier this year. The fitter was very good and took a lot of trouble as the mare had come to me with a bad back caused by an ill fitting saddle. I just had the 'back lady' yesterday to check the mare and there was no problems at all in the saddle area so clearly its as comfy for her as it is for me.
The only minor grumble I have is that you need to use a humane girth as normal girths seem to damage the underside of the saddle flap. (The fitter told me this, I took no notice and sure enough it has worn the flaps a bit. I now have a humane girth and it hasnt worn any further)
I had a saddle company saddle for my old arab mare and it was fab! No other type of saddle would fit her-and we tried a few, and she changed shape alot-so it was ideal! I also liked the fact it was very light-weight (mine was half leather/ half synthetic). I think I will get one for my youngster when I start her as it will be fully adjustable for when she changes shape. My only problem was that the saddle flaps got very worn-which was annoying! This happened to other people I know who have got them and they had to have them replaced. I still will be buying one for baby though!!
My horse is having a fitting for one this weekend, ive read so many good things about them till i went on a forum where they were saying that they were badly made and the panels arnt very wide.
But im not letting that put me off i think they sound brilliant especially for the price i cant wait to get mine.
They are brilliant. I have the event verona with suede seat and knees (suede is worth the extra). Recommended to me by a Bowen therapist and I know Kay Humphries who is a very well known saddle fitter rates them.
The panels are wider than lots of other makes so that's a lot of rubbish. The guy are made in the UK and the tree is guaranteed for 10 years. The leather is fantastic - I clean mine about twice a year and it still looks new. Never had a problem with a normal girth - I use buckle guards (as I would with any saddle).
