Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had any dealing with this company or does anyone own one of their saddles? I was interested to know if the saddles are good quality, and feedback would be greatly received, pm me if you prefer.

Thanks

I have a Saddle Company saddle, and I'm very happy with it. My mare does change shape quite a bit over the year, so having a saddle that I can regularly adjust for shape has been invaluable.
My only problem at the moment is finding a SC fitter who can alter it......

I love Saddle Company Saddles. They are very hardwearing saddles and look lovely. Very lightweight and comfortable for the horse.

I have just bought a new horse, and sadly my lovely SC Saddle no longer fits him, so if you are interested. It's pratically brand new, only ridden in a few times.

I love mine! It's the comfiest saddle I've ever sat in, my boy loves it too, he's so much more free moving and forward going! :)

The adjustability of them is invaluable as well, there just fab.

My saddle was ready within two weeks, and my SC saddle fitter was brilliant! :) Can't thank her enough.

I'd thoroughly recommend them! They are beautifully made saddle's, so many different options, and made to fit your horse perfectly!

Heard mixed reports, some have been very happy, some have had tremendous trouble, I think you get what you pay for and not every saddle make suits every horse.

Talking of which, where is the best place to advertise my Albion?

Not much response from preloved and I loathe ebay!

okay...............

I have had my saddle company for 5 years, and has been fab......

however did you know they are only supposed to be adjusted a maximum (across the tree) 5 times, and marked each time, and they have a plastic tree which does eventualy relax, and loose its shape....

which is what has happened to mine, the fitters are exspensive to get out, and the last one hashed the reflocking, I am now waiting for things to improve so I can sell it, would I get another no, would I recommend them NEW no, second hand okay, just check how many times it has been shaped !

and in comparison to what else is available not worth their money any more either :)

I have one that was made for Dylan as a 5 year old, used it a lot but now kept as a spare. It is a half leather half synthetic on a cob tree with working hunter flaps, was great when he was growing as it could be adjusted and not overly expensive and good quality.

It is a wide fit but you are welcome to borrow it to try or just have a look at it, but think it may be on the wide side for your lad.

PM me

I have had two and like them, they are comfortable but do come up close in seat size.

I now have a wow and am selling one of a kind full leather version. Its two toned like a stubben and was used about 10times before I had to turn my horse away as his feet disintegrated. I have a bit of a saddle fetish so got a wow for him after that...!

Had quite a few over the years. All but one had the panels attached squint at the back and needed moved (easy enough to do).

Well designed saddle and an OK quality for the price. They fit most horses well and the serge panels are excellent. I've found they come up long in the panels though, so not great for short-baked horses.

Ditto the problem with getting a good fitter though, as they have to be adjusted in a Saddle Devil machine.

They have the same tree and design as Thorowgood saddles (maker used to work for thorowogood!) though so I'd personally go for a thorowgood (or Kent and Masters if you want leather) over a SC as they have an easily changable gullet. However Throwogood won't do the same 'custom made' alterations as SC (different flap lengths, odd seat sizes, different colours etc) and the serge panels are lovely, so it depends what you want.

I have a saddle company saddle and really like it. However, I believe that they have gone up in price quite significantly. This means my saddler now refuses to deal with the saddle company as (in his words) they no longer offer good value for money when compared to an all leather saddle.

Therefore, would I buy one again? new No, used yes.
