Well, as you know by now, my life with the Pedmeister hasn't been t flowery of late, but must say the last couple of days have been going in the right direction. Today.... move day.... I went down early, tied him up for a while, and then ave him a bath... transport arrived... he was a poppet, boxed really well adn we all set off merrily. Arrived at the new yard, he was really well behaved, went in his new stable for a couple off hours, then decided to pop him out in the small paddock that is his until he joins the herd at the weekend. Was fine, trotted about 2 metres, then gave up, head down, hoovering grass - nice and calm, smiled at the other horses and head down again. Anyway, decided to bring him in about 4pm, all fine, no problem, then went to pick my daughter up from school (5min drive). No sooner had I got her, than the YO called... he'd barged his door down and wandered off following his new neighbour when she went with her rider for a kesson in the menage. Apparently was very calm about it all, and the girl popped him in the field... so I flew back, and OMG the door... I am SO ashamed of him.... it's a write off, so now he has to stay out until the carpenter has made a new reinforced one. *whistles*... I feel awful, guilt isnt in it.... ARGGHHHHH so he's in the paddock, Ive popped home for tea, then back off again!

Well I'm glad the move went well and his behaviour seems to be better!!

As for the door - if its any consolation the first night my mare moved to this yard she was all upset and agitated when she was put in her stable for the night, span round and barged the door, which held but got her head collar caught on the bolt for the top half of the door and pulled the whole door frame off

!!! I was mortified - the YO just laughed moved her to another stable and then reassured me that it was ok as the timber had rotted away at the bottom. It was the old carthorse stables and had been standing for the best part of a 100 years and was trashed in about 2 minutes flat when the stroppy cob arrived!!

Put some Rescue Remedy in his water/food - although he does sound like he is quite calm just interested in his new home and buddies!!

Oh dear, he's made himself known at the yard already then!

At least you have a good sense of humour about it, you've made me smile. Keep at it, hopefully he will settle down soon. Sounds like there's a bit of an improvement already, so well done for holding your nerves and not letting him scare you. x

Oh yes.... I've already noticed people going round corners to whisper - I bet tomorrow I hear that today he crashed through the door sparks flying and appeared to have horns :-) Just been up to see im (again), he's happy in the paddock, flies really annoying him though

Well I thought that/.... but other horses were in at the time, maybe despite his sex change he isn't gay after all and did fancy the mare he followed! And I'm a monkeys uncle. Actually - has anyone else heard of a horse having a ureathostomy (excuse. spelling)?
