The secret to feeding a fussy dog

Stanley the BT puppy is very fussy and we have George the vizla staying who is almost food phobic, he only eats when he's starving and never with much enthusiasm. I currently have two dogs eating happily as long as it is from the same bowl. Stan stands under George and eats from the front of the big bowl and George eats from the back. No aggression but definitely competition. Of course they shouldn't be eating the same food but it's only for a week so i'm sure they will both survive OK and if I try to feed them separately, neither of them eats at all! I'd love to post a pic but I still can't do it from fb on my phone (motorola).
 
We had MAJOR PROBLEMS with our GSD pup when she was little. A lot of tough love went on! And she wouldn't eat anything my partner made ��. But we whenever we went to my sisters house with her dogs, ANYTHING was gobbled down. A little competition goes a long way.

Stan is enjoying the company, George is tolerating Stan. I just wish we could tie George's ears up on top of his head out of the way, they are just too tempting for a little BT. TBH I do find G just a little needy, I now know why they are called "velcro dogs", he is a joy to walk though, his recall is fantastic and generally his training is a real credit to my daughter.
 
I agree competition is the key - Millie lurcher would hardly eat a thing when we got her in June, I was actually pretty worried about her because she is only a tiny little thing compared to the greyhounds. After about 3-4 weeks she decided that this home was really OK thanks all the same and she began to eat properly - she is first to finish every time now :) I still can't get over that she is only 15kg mind you....

Perhaps you need to get a permanent friend for Stan oldie48? :)

Noooo! Life is busy enough, however, my neigbour has just got a 10 week old lab and i'e offered to help out with days when they are both out at work, so Stan will have a friend although not a housemate.
