The sequel Vid, going over the bridge other direction :-)

Thanks everyone, yes he is such a good sausage most of the time, BUT, put him in "certain" company like other ponies and horses he can be difficult to canter as he goes into "out running with the herd mode", head down and I'm not there, just depends, others he is fine with and we canter side by side, I wouldn't dare take him hunting, he also freaks at pony and traps, they are pretty much his achilles heel, but one cant have everything can one :)

Pedantic - what a gorgeous horse you have, you must have alot of trust in each other. Just a quick question - am I mistaken or is he wearing a hair clip in his forlock?!?

The little ginger boy with a top knot deserves extra carrotts! Wouldn't for the life of me ever attempt to ride over such a bridge with my current two as I probably end up hanging off of it at some point.

Well done sausage :-)

Total respect!

What a wonderful thing to have such trust between you and your horse, you're not worried, so neither is he, it must be a humbling experience.

The ginger sausage is a superstar!

Awwww.....likkle Po....I'm going to miss the ginger sausage....your not a bad old stick either Pedantic!!!!

What a brilliant horse!

This bridleway bridge is almost certainly non-compliant as the standards for the sides of bridges has been raised and so has the infilled sections. The current height for parapets is found in the Horse Crossing Leaflet Number 13 on the British Horse Society Leaflet. Bridleway Bridges Ref 1982. 1.8 metres high with an 18" solid infillbut.
Contact the Highways Agency and ask them for the bridge to be upgraded to current specifications. Your local BHS bridleway officer would be pleased to assist you.

Bit of a long story Peter, the road hasn't been there for that long, the Ashtrack that the road ********d up was used by "everyone", but needless to say it's not classed as a Bridleway and they want "proof" blah blah, as such there is only me and "possibly" one other person that rides it, so I ride it at my own risk, there is another "equestrian" bridge crossing the road, further up, some riders wont even use that :(, but it means a "straight there and straight" back ride, well I do a large 1.5 hour circuit so put up with crossing this one at this point, I did use the roundabout that "was" to the right of the bridge instead, but as you see the works in progress removed the roundabout, so bridge it has to be, this commercial park has caused havoc with "everything", it all should have been finished last autumn, yea right, the river path was blocked off for 3 months and no provision for us, anyway, nobody else seems bothered so I'm leaving things as they are, but thanks for your post :)

Your horse is amazing, my mare crapped herself (and so did i) going over a small cattle bridge over a dual carriageway, i doubt she'd do that! I saw from the other post the other day about the headlight, it's a really good idea :)
I love your commentary btw :p :D

I thought it was bad enough riding over a nice solid concrete with proper high sides bridleway bridge across the M4 but your metal bridge takes some beating. The first time I had to do the M4 one the pony was rushing as nervous but coped well, but the second time going over I knew he was fine as he stopped to poo halfway across whilst admiring the traffic going by under him :D

Is it a bird, is it a plane? No its..................SuperPo!

You`ve got some guts!!! My girl would be straight over the rail at the sight of a push bike never mind the cars!!!
lots of carrots for sausage and a few whiskys for you!!!

Can be a bit akward when meeting a dog and owner halfway across in the sunshine, as he hates walking on the shadows of the bars on the floor and tends to walk a bit sqwiffy :p
