So my entire male Whippet has just been a really fruity little sod the last week or so.
I have had to correct him for mounting my other dogs (spayed females) pretty much daily. To be clear, he is not at them all day. Just the odd moment once a day on average. Quickly stops once corrected.
He's three.
He does not usually show either of them a jot of interest.
So I had a read up and apparently it's usual for dogs to have higher testosterone levels in the Spring time. So I guess that explains it.
So why would dogs have higher testosterone in spring? Females have seasons all year round don't they?
Would dogs in the wild typically breed in Spring for some reason?
I assume he will settle down very soon, but for now, upping the exercise a bit so he doesn't have the excess energy to be so fruity.
Nobody likes a sex pest.
