Rafi has a busy 6 weeks with BRC dressage[ today] and dressage to music champs[Oct 3rd ], BD national champs [Sunday] 2 pet plan finals Patchetts and Myersclough] and then the Home International in Scotland.
Today was the BRC national champs in Lincoln. I couldn't get the time off work but sent Rafi and Penfold off yesterday with Claire and her Dad [ my hubby] It is a nightmare packing haylage and shavings and bedding and food but worth it .
Last night they met up with all their team members as our club had qualified in a lot of comps. They had a barbie and a few drinks but not too many as it was an early start this morning.
Penfold was in early and started his open jumping well but when he turned ffor home he set sail and went from a clear round to the last 4 down, oh well. The rest of the team weren't at their best either but it is always a tricky course.
Our first dressage team rider bought her horse out of his stable at 9.10 and found he was lame [ poor both of them after going all that way] but it was too late to substitute as the class had started, which was a shame as our sub came 4th in her arena.
Then it was Rafi's turn and he is not too keen on competing on grass, he had sharp studs in but he is a lot more cautious on grass and doesn't 'eat up' the arena, lol. Still it was a nice test and good enough for a 69% and a win with lovely sash etc. 2nd got 64% [I think but this may be wrong]
Penfold's second round was as bad as his first but he still got a hug.
I know Sneedy did well as well but I will let her report .
They are staying tonight as well so I think the Pimms are flowing tonight, wish I was there.
So next weekend it is Gatcombe for Penfold and BD champs for Rafi. A lot tougher but lovely just to get there.
