Has anyone ever been to the "Tack Shop Saddlery Superstore" in Uxbridge. Am finding it really hard to find a good tack shop that's actually near my in London (and doesn't involve 2hours on public transport!) and just discovered this one's quite near OH's work place so was thinking about popping in their next week. Does anyone know if it's any good with a good selection of stock? I'm after a new show jacket (nothing too fancy) and may treat myself to some new leather competition boots if they have anything nice, but don't want to waste time going there if it's no good.

Thanks

I've been there a few times, but only to get basic emergency things - is not got the best selection and not the most nicely laid out store. It is actually quite small - not a superstore like its name suggests...
College Farm in Finchley is quite nice, or Patchetts in Watford for nice competition wear!

Thanks I tried college farm, but I don't live enough (takes ages on buses and can't keep getting my OH to drive me round places in his car). Didn't realise Patchetts was near Watford...that might be easier to get to. Thanks

EDIT: Or maybe not...seems like it's even further on public transport

and feel very bad making OH drive me there as it involves the M25 & M1!

The is Horse house in Northwood - thats near met line train station/buses. It is nice there - not a massive selection but they do have a few nice bits...Or Riders and Squires in Kensington?

Yeah Riders & Squires is close (I'm studying at Imperial!) but have heard from everyone it's very expensive so have avoided going in there so far as don't have the money to spare. Thanks for Horse House - that's much more convenient for me to get to.

Don't suppose you know any towards the other end of the Picadilly line (near Cockfosters/Oakwood) as I'm at Trent Park EC once a week training with Imperial so if there's anywhere good round there I could easily pop in on way home from riding.

There is the surrey equestrian store (surreyequestrian.co.uk) that is on the train line out to hersham (line direct from waterloo), they seem to have a pretty good range of a lot of stuff. Hope this helps.

Depending on what side of london you are on, Ingatestone Saddlery is great and the village is on the main line from liverpool street (35min) then just grab bus or cab the 5minup the road, biggest saddlery in the south and a great cafe
