Basically trying to do some research on the best joint supplements, have read alot of posts on here from previous threads. However the two that the vets recommend, i.e synequin and cosequin don't have MSM in, which all the others do.
Grand flex don't use it too actually - As msm is known for it's anti inflammatory qualities. Now this is is making me want to make sure that I do not use it as i would not want anything to mask or relieve the pain. I would want to know about it and deal accordingly.
However, suppleaze gold, riaflex, superflex and so on all have msm. Whereas as mentioned before the ones which actual scientific proof that it actually does help the joint doesn't have it.
Now I know MSM is a good carrier of HCI, so a good reason why it is used, but does anyone know the amount per day you can feed MSM before it becomes a pain reliever or anti inflammatory.. i.e fed at small amounts will it have much of an effect?
It's all so confusing especially as I am pretty dumb at the best of times.. lol
The worst thing is on here with everythread I have read, everyone has preffered the 'said' other products to the cosequin and synequin which are the ones that ARE supposed to work!
Also, Apparently horses will need about 8g of glucosamine HCI whereas some of these supplements just give 5.5g and I have read that glucosamine chondroitin cannot even be absorbed into the body, so what's the poin of this?
