was taken to small field pony lami one no grazing was caught fine (suprise suprise)
no back in big one and uncatchable without catching all others first and rounding her into yard
advice please

Sounds like the horse would much rather be out in the field eating grass then in being ridden/in a stable. I would try giving her a small feed everytime she does come in, so that she wants to come in and sees it as a good thing rather than, 'oh no I'm going to be ridden!' Sometimes just catch her in, feed her, groom and then turn out again. Make sure you make a real fuss of her once she is caught. You can try taking a bucket/scoop of feed out into the field with you as well to catch her with.

Could you not section off a small piece of the larger field so that she still got company but not so much grass; and not quite such a distance to play the catching game. Also agree with Painted Lucky; mix it up a bit, don't always bring her in just to ride or to bed for the night, keep her guessing, make it interesting.

Make it work if it runs away from you, they can trot for hours without getting tired but if you send them away at a canter it will be much more effective. They need to understand that if they choose to be away from you it will be much more work than if they allow you to catch them. A couple of nights of sending away with a long rope or a lunge whip should do the trick
